“MEMS and Nanotechnology for Kids” Earns Bronze

 

Tiny things reaped great rewards for Marlene Bourne.  The founder of Bourne Research LLC earned a bronze medal in the 2008 IPPY contest in the Juvenile-Teen-Y/A Non-fiction category for her book MEMS and Nanotechnology for Kids.  This book is an introduction to modern technology, exploring MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical systems) and nanomaterials, and their uses in today’s society.  MEMS and Nanotechnology for Kids, directed mainly toward 11 to 14-year-olds, is vibrant and easy to read, sure to spark the interest of young scientists as well as adults.    View the book’s press release
